The Big Rock Show Theater rolled into Pigeon Forge, TN and played two great show over the Fourth of July weekend. The Big Rock Show Theater is a concert style tribute to Classic Rock and 80’s Arena Rock and they perform at the new Bob Nelson Theater in Pigeon Forge, TN.

Derek Welsh, the group’s leader and lead singer, moved to the Tennessee Smokies several years ago and felt the area was prime for a rock-n-roll show, especially a late night show, to add to the great arsenal of entertainment already in Pigeon Forge. Feedback from the first weekend was really good and people were fired-up to have a rock-n-roll show as an entertainment option.

Derek’s group has played together for years and has played all over the country from small corporate meetings to 30,000 seat, college town arena’s. Derek is very happy with the seating and acoustics of the 700-seat Bob Nelson Theater which recently underwent a complete interior overhaul. “It is very much like a concert experience but with an intimate feeling”, said Derek. “Every seat feels like a front row seat. The moving lights, LED’s and smoke add to the experience but the focus is on the band and the music. It is what you would expect from a live ’80’s concert.”

The Big Rock Show Theater shows are planned for every Friday and Saturday night beginning at 11:00pm throughout the summer. For future schedules call the Bob Nelson Theater in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, at 865-622-9731.
