Your first sight of the Smoky Mountain Opry will get  you ready for holiday fun with the thousands of colored lights and the giant, brightly decorated Christmas trees that adorn the building and the front lawn of the theater. The festiveness continues once you enter the lobby and see the bright and beautiful decorations and elegantly decorated Christmas trees adorned with presents.

Santa Claus in the SmokiesIn the show, Christmas toys and wooden soldiers come alive on the stage to the delight of children and their parents alike. Their comical movements and dances bring a smile to the faces of everyone in the audience, and the exceptional music from the orchestra punctuates the perfection. The Christmas music alone will put even the grouchiest Grinch in the holiday mood, and the bright, colorful costumes accentuate the festive mood. And there are Ice Skaters who glide gracefully across the stage. And everyone will believe in the legend of Santa Claus when the jolly old elf himself drives on the stage in his sleigh pulled by his top-hatted 'reindeer'. And Santa's jolly "Ho-Ho-Ho's" will be remembered long after you leave the theater.

But the Christmas at the Smoky Mountain Opry is very much about the reason for the season - the birth of Jesus Christ. You will witness the area's largest living Nativity scene complete with live animals, the three Wise Men - who arrive on camels - majestic flying angels, Mary, Joseph and of course, the baby Jesus. The powerful music is an original score and it will inspire you with its majesty and its beauty. You will be touched by the wondrous Christmas message that the Christmas at the Smoky Mountain Opry inspires. Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season to All!
