TAKE A COOL RIVER RIDE AT RAFTING IN THE SMOKIES!
Rafting in the Smokies is a pioneer in river rafting in the Gatlinburg and Smoky Mountain area and has been guiding people down the Pigeon River since 1978. And at their location in Hartford, Tennessee, you can enjoy White Water Rafting, Family Fun Adventures, Ziplining, a Ropes Course Challenge and the Family Adventure Island.
The river trips are broken down by location, with 12 Class III and 3 Class IV rapids on the Upper Pigeon River. This thrilling 5 mile adventure last and hour-and-a-half and takes you down lively rapids and through some of the most beautiful scenery in the Smokies. The trip is open to anyone 8-years or older and at least 70 pounds, and life jackets and helmets are provided to all riders. A guide mans the tiller and provides commentary and answers questions during the trip.
The Family Float Trip happens on the Lower Pigeon River which has calm Class I and class II rapids. Your trip covers 6 miles of the laid-back section of the Pigeon River and is open to anyone 3-years old and up. Helmets and life jackets and a guide are all provide by Rafting in the Smokies. This is a fabulous way to spend time with your family , friends or group, away from city noise and cell phones, but close to Mother Nature's most spectacular sights.
There's more adventure to be had as you walk across the 150 foot-long suspension bridge to the Family Adventure Island. On this 10-acre island you can zipline along 6 ziplines and 2 sky bridges, challenge yourself on the High Elements Ropes Course, walk together on a nature trail, enjoy a picnic, watch the kids on the playground or play at the edge of the Pigeon River. All this at no additional cost to you!
